About the Festival

The International Web Festival Albena 2008 will evaluate accomplishments in Web design, technologies and communications in 22 categories, covering different economic and social fields.

Categories are aiming to guarantee reliable criteria for each branch and business sphere. The evaluation process includes the following stages – preselection and nominations, determining of the winner of the best Web site award in each category, determining of the winners of the special awards for best Web site developer and for best Web site-offered service and the winner of the Grand Prix for the best Web site.

In each category there will be special prizes for the Internet customers’ favorite sites. They will be awarded after SMS voting of the public.

There is news in the festival program – all the Web sites nominated in the separate categories will be presented to the Jury and the public.

Finalists should convince the Jury why their creative and technical decisions merit the prize for the best Web site. Presentations will take place on 4 June from 2 to 6 p.m. and on 5 June from 10.30 a.m. to 1 p.m.

Winners in separate categories and Internet customers’ favorites will be announced on Awarding Ceremony on 5 June starting 7 p.m.

On 6 June the winners will be published in the organizers’ Web sites www.albena.bwa.bg and www.mediamixx.info.

Winners of the special awards for best Web site developer and for best Web site-offered service and the winner of the Grand Prix for the best Web site, as well as the winners of best Web site awards in categories TV, Radio, Press media and New media will receive their prizes on the Gala Ceremony on 7 June 2008, 9 p.m. They will be published in the organizers’ Web sites the next day at 10 a.m.
