Mediamixx Congress Offers Interesting Web Topics

Bulgarian Web Association organized within the Congress three discussions for the representatives of the Web business.
On 5 June, Thursday, from 12:00 - 1:30 p.m., participants in the Congress will have the opportunity to hear the position of marketing and media directors of key advertisers and leading advertising agencies in the panel Internet Advertising in Bulgaria.
On 6 June, Friday, from 11:00 -12:30 p.m., Lyuben Belov, a co-founder of NetInfo.BG Plc and managing director of Sofia Ventures, and Svetlin Pislenski, an investment manager at Global Finance, will present the topic Investors on the Internet.
On 7 June, Saturday, from 10:00-12:30 p.m., Veselin Angelov, director of Gemius Bulgaria and Margarita Boeva, Noema-Marketing Research Agency, will make presentations on Peoplemetrics in Internet.
If you plan to participate in the Web Congress, you should make accreditation on the Web site of Mediamixx’08.
There are news about the Web party, which will be held on 6 June, Friday, from 11.00 p.m. in the club “Ganvie”. We will dance with the music of Lyubo, who is charged with a responsible task - to give on behalf of our partner BMG an Adobe CS3 Design Premium package to the winner of the special award for “Best Web site creator”.

Under the Regulation of the International Festival Web Albena 2008 up to 18:00 on 29 May signals about breach of the regulation, technical requirements, copyright or other irregularities may be sent to info@bwa.bg. After this period all signals will be reviewed by the Technical Committee, consisting of the representatives of the Bulgarian Web Association.
After the closing of registration for the Web festival, all applications was reviewed for compliance with the procedure. The total number of unique registered Web sites is 141, some of which compete in more than one category, which makes the number of participations 148.
Voting of the Jury and of the Public has Started

On 26 May the voting of the Jury and the public has started on the International Web Festival Albena 2008. For the first time in the history of the Festival the results of the vote of the Jury and the public will be announced publicly at the Web site of the competition.
On the first stage of the voting Jury will review all the participating sites and will nominate three finalists in each category, which will be announced on 30 May. The vote of the audience will be made by sending an SMS on 1581 with text - the unique number of each site, published in Participants page. The vote of the public will continue until 10 p.m., 4 June, Wednesday.
On 4 and 5 June as part of the festival program, the nominated participants will present their sites to the Jury and the audience in order to determine the winners in each category. The timetable for presentations will be as follows:
June 4, Wednesday, 2 p.m. - 6 p.m. - presentation of Web sites in categories: Business, Health, Knowledge, Properties, Information, Culture, New Media, Society, Recreation, Press, Production, Radio, Advertising, Style and Television.
5 June Thursday, 10:30 a.m. -1 p.m. - presentation of Web sites in categories: Technology, Transport, Tourism, Commerce, Services, Finance, Food & Drink.
Albena 2008 Web Festival Jury Announced

Today, the Bulgarian Web Association announced the names of the Web Festival Albena 2008 Jury members :
- Boril Karaivanov - a member of the Managing board of the Bulgarian Web Association and Head of Graphic Design unit in BSH.
- Irina Gerdzhikova - co-founder of Lukrat, the first organization in Bulgaria, offering professional usability services .
- Krassen Hinkov - Deputy Director of Marketing Data Directorate in M-Tel. Responsible for the development of value-added services and Vodafone live!, Group coordinator for Mobile Internet in Mobilkom Austria Group.
- Martin Popov - representative of the media agency MindShare, part of the advertising agency Ogilvy and creator of Interactive Share, an information site on Internet and advertising.
- Nikolay Chakarov - co-founder of the Bulgarian Web Association and creator of Yvox, information site for advertising and media.
The main objective in selecting the Jury was to nominate prominent and directly connected to the Internet specialists with expertise in various areas. Any of them will contribute to the Jury by the uniqueness of their professional background.

Over 150 sites are expected to enter the competition

At present the participation in the International Festival Web Albena 2008 claimed 126 sites. Due to the large interest the period for registration was extended until 6 p.m. on May 23, 2008.
Most challenging is the competition in the categories Information, Recreational, Business, Finance and New media.
The number of participants by category is: Business (10), Health (2), Knowledge (3), Properties (5), Information (11), Culture (6), New Media (10), Society (6), Recreation (11), Press (4), Production (1), Radio (3), Advertising (4), Style (4), Television (2), Technology (4), Transport (3), Tourism (4), Commerce (9), Services (8), Finance (10), Food and Drinks (6).
